Members of the Public: Mr. Poulsom, Mr. Grimshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes-Hallett, Mrs. Henderson.

1.         Apologies:      Mrs. Pelczynski, Mrs. Hayman-Joyce.

2.         Minutes of the last Ordinary General Meeting of 28th January 2005 and the Extraordinary General Meeting of 4th March 2005 were agreed and signed by the Chairman. There were no matters arising.

3.         Planning Matters An application for an extension in the porch area to Home Farm was discussed. No representation was made, which was fully recorded by the Chairman on the District Council Application Form.

4.         Best Kept Village Competition 2005. The Chairman reminded the Meeting that we had entered for this once again. He stated that he would allocate tasks in the usual way. It was agreed that the hideous yellow salt bin should, if possible, be moved during the Summer months and that the dead branches beside the Kitebrook Road should be cut and moved also.

5.         Polling Day 5th May 2005. The Vice Chairman stated that the Parochial Church Hall would be used as a Polling Station as usual.

6.         Any other business

a)         Warwickshire City Council Information – Councillor Saint drew everyone’s attention to Fair Trading Standards. This, together with other general information, is attached to these minutes.

b)         Stones for Parking Area In Camden Close – Mr. Hayman-Joyce had kindly looked into this and had managed to negotiate a very good deal with a Mr. Nick Hanks, a Director of Huntsman’s Quarries. The Vice-Chairman agreed to liaise with Mr. Hayman-Joyce on the ‘Way Ahead’.

c)         A Grand Piano for the Village – The Chairman stated that Mrs. Ward had come across a grand piano. Which could be of use to the village. It was agreed that although this was a lovely idea to have in the village, regrettably there was nowhere to put it.

d)        Letter from the Liberal Democrats Councillor on Grass Cutting – Mrs. Juned, a Liberal Democrat, has written to all Parish Councils asking what difference it would make if the payment for grass cutting was stopped, a move threatened currently by the present District Council. The Vice Chairman agreed to answer this letter, pointing out that if the payment was stopped we would then have to increase the precept to cover the cost.

e)         Smart Water – The Vice Chairman announced that 25% of the village had asked for this, which entitled us now to display security signs to this effect at the entrances to the village. He would obtain smart water and signs.
