We talked about Zia Haider Rahman’s first novel, ‘In the Light of What we Know’. It was most interesting to have everyone’s positive views on this very erudite piece of writing. There is no doubt that the author is, as described by one of the group, ‘an intellectual genius’ and it provoked a very good discussion. Perhaps a good editor might have separated some of the mathematical and philosophical thories and put them in another book, but we are a hardy group and most managed to appreciate Mr. Rahman’s writing and were fascinated by the stories he told.
